New railway bridge over Wymeerer Sieltief

By the end of 2024, Deutsche Bahn will have completed an impressive new railway bridge. The railway bridge over the Wymeerer Sieltief, a canal close to the border between the Netherlands and Germany. This trough bridge is an essential part of the Wunderline, the future high-speed rail link between Groningen and Bremen.

Although the bridge itself is ready, the rail link is still under construction. The construction of the bridge marks an important step in the realisation of the Wunderline. Once the track has also been completely renewed, travellers will be able to travel faster and more comfortably between the Netherlands and Germany.

The Wunderline is a joint project between the Netherlands and Germany and focuses on a faster, more sustainable and better connected train connection. In addition to the new bridge, the project includes track improvements, more modern stations and better connections to other modes of transport.

The completion of the bridge over the Wymeerer Sieltief brings the realisation of the Wunderline another step closer. A future in which Groningen and Bremen are even better connected is thus increasingly in sight.
